Are you currently working within the non-medical aesthetic industry and looking to further your practice?

This is an exciting programme that has been developed to expand from the FdA Aesthetic Principles and Clinical Practice enhancing theoretical and vocational skills within the industry.

Throughout this programme you will learn advanced procedures such as medium strength chemical peels, mixed modalities and advanced laser procedures such as tattoo removal, with theoretical principles to support. The intent of the programme is to expand on the underpinning knowledge of an aesthetician to ensure that you are competent to treat a wider range of complex conditions.

The programme has been designed with the support of industry contacts including Laser Clinics UK, Myobody Aesthetics and SK:N to ensure that the relevant skills are developed for transition into employment.

This degree is essential if you wish to work within a clinical setting alongside surgical professionals or progress further afield into the teaching or training sector. There is an emphasis on research as well as theoretical and practical study, including the completion of a dissertation on a topic of your choice.

Entry requirements

Pass or higher in Level 5 Foundation Degree, Diploma in Higher Education or HND (in related Beauty Therapy subjects).

You may be invited to a discretionary interview.

If you are a current Newcastle College student and successfully meet the published Level 5 entry criteria in an appropriate subject[s], you will be guaranteed a place on this course.

Applicants are normally expected to have achieved grade 4 or higher in GCSE Maths and English or the Level 2 equivalent (i.e. Functional Skills or Adult Literacy/Numeracy).

At Newcastle College University Centre we welcome applications from students studying new T-Level qualifications.

Where can I progress?

After completion of this programme, you will be eligible to apply for an MA in Business Management or a PGCE. You may also wish to transition into employment/self-employment.

You will be eligible to gain work within the non-medical aesthetic industry. This may be through employment or self-employment and generally includes the following job roles:
