Looking to advance your career in law enforcement? Interested in working in crime analysis and the criminal justice system? This BSc (Hons) Criminology and Policing (Top-Up) will give you the specialised knowledge and research skills you need to succeed.

This Top-Up degree will build on the foundational knowledge you have gained from studying a Foundation Degree in Criminology, Policing and Criminal Law, giving you the opportunity to explore your chosen specialist area at a deeper level.

Focusing on police investigation and counter-terrorism, you will delve into these critical areas that directly impact criminal law principles. You will explore complex topics such as investigative strategies, policing practices and counter-terrorism measures, gaining a comprehensive understanding of how these fields intersect with criminal justice.

While you will already have the essential skills, knowledge and behaviours needed for various roles within the criminal justice system, this Top-Up degree focuses on more advanced, specialised areas of policing and criminology, giving you the perfect opportunity to advance your career in the criminal justice system.

Entry requirements

64 UCAS points (from a Criminology, Policing or Criminal Law programme or a related subject).

Once your application has been reviewed, you will be invited to attend an interview at the University Centre (details will follow by email from our Admissions Team).

If you are a current Newcastle College student and successfully meet the published Level 3 entry criteria in an appropriate subject(s), you will be guaranteed a place on this course.

Applicants are normally expected to have achieved grade 4 or higher in GCSE English and maths or the Level 2 equivalent (i.e. Functional Skills or Adult Literacy/Numeracy).

At Newcastle College University Centre, we welcome applications from students studying new T-Level qualifications.
