Are you looking to deepen your knowledge of the criminal and legal fields? This Honours Degree (BSc) in Criminology and Law (Top-Up) is the perfect opportunity for you to specialise in the area of criminology and law that interests you the most.

Building on the core principles from criminology and law, you will focus on areas such as family law and tort law, which directly connect to criminal law. This will help you to understand the broader implications and real-world applications of the law within the criminal justice system.

The BSc (Hons) Criminology and Law (Top-Up) degree equips you with the advanced knowledge, skills and behaviours required to thrive in a variety of roles within the criminal justice system, in both the public and private sectors. By linking theory and practice throughout the course, you will develop the critical thinking and analytical abilities needed for a successful career in the field.

Entry requirements

A pass or higher in a Level 5 Foundation Degree, Diploma in Higher Education or HND (in a related subject).

You may also be invited to a discretionary interview.

If you are a current Newcastle College University Centre student and successfully pass a Foundation Degree in an appropriate subject(s), you will be guaranteed a place on this course.

Applicants are normally expected to have achieved grade 4 or higher in GCSE English and maths or the Level 2 equivalent (i.e. Functional Skills or Adult Literacy/Numeracy).

Acceptance is subject to a satisfactory DBS clearance.
