More about the course

Watch your career soar with an Airline and Airport Management Foundation Degree. This qualification is perfect if you have a passion for the aviation industry and are looking to work in an airport setting within management or at an operational level.

You will study topics such as aviation safety and security, air transport operations and aviation regulations, all from tutors who have many years of experience of the industry working at commercial and military airports and airlines, including Virgin Atlantic, Jet2 and Air France. Through studying this degree, you will develop your professional skills in areas such as communication, leadership and teamwork.

Entry requirements

64 UCAS points (from related Travel and Tourism, Business and/or Management subjects).

If you are a current Newcastle College student and successfully complete the published Level 3 entry criteria in an appropriate subject, you will be guaranteed a place on this course.

Applicants who have not progressed from a Level 3 course with Newcastle College will be interviewed for suitability.

Applicants are normally expected to have achieved grade 4 or higher in GCSE Maths and English Language or the Level 2 equivalent (i.e. Functional Skills or Adult Literacy/Numeracy).

Acceptance is subject to a satisfactory DBS clearance.

At Newcastle College University Centre we welcome applications from students studying new T-Level qualifications.

Work Experience

You will work closely with, and benefit from guest speakers from either Newcastle International Airport or another suitable industry partner to apply what you have learnt in the classroom in the workplace.

You will also kept up to date with developments in the industry through guest lectures from organisations such as EasyJet and Jet2 and have the chance to go on regional, national and international trips to enhance your learning.

Where can I progress?

Once you successfully complete your Foundation Degree, you can progress to the BA (Hons) Tourism and Aviation Management (Top-Up) Honours Degree with Newcastle College University Centre, or you may decide to seek employment within an airport in roles including security, passenger assistance, check in staff or cabin crew.
