Meet our Business Development Team
Martijn Kool
Business Development ManagerMartijn is responsible for the overall growth of the Apprenticeship market share for Newcastle College. Martijn works collaboratively with industry to support with recruitment and training needs of new recruits undertaking an apprenticeship, the upskilling of the current workforce and the development of large employer based skills agreements.
Scott Sayers
Employer Services ManagerAs the Employer Services Manager, Scott acts as a brand ambassador and main point of contact for our employers at the beginning and throughout their apprenticeship journey with Newcastle College. Scott also supports business development and contracts, delivery, and finance teams with employer interaction.
Kristie Ayeke
Business Support OfficerKristie is our Business Support Officer and provides the Business Development team with essential business support. Kristie’s role supports a number of team functions such as working on bids and business opportunities, reporting and data tasks, team operations and events and marketing.
Martin Wigham
Business Development ConsultantMartin is our Business Development Consultant, with a focus in our Digital, Business and Hospitality apprenticeships. Martin’s role is to offer help and guidance to local and national employers with apprentice enrolment and securing apprenticeship funding for your business. He can also support with your recruitment and training needs and any upskilling of your current workforce.

Business Development ConsultantJoanne is our Business Development Consultant with a focus on Engineering, Energy and Automotive apprenticeships. Joanne's role is to offer advice and guidance to local and national employers around apprenticeship recruitment, funding and upskilling your workforce.

Learner Recruitment ConsultantAs a Learner Recruitment Consultant, my main responsibility is to assist learners throughout the apprenticeship process, from their application to the interview stage and beyond. I am dedicated to helping learners identify suitable apprenticeship opportunities and ensuring that the apprenticeships they choose align with their needs and career goals.
