ABOUT THE SUBJECT

Learning in our industry-standard facilities, you will have access to our state-of-the-art CAD suites and equipment, including CNC machines, robotics, 3D printers, 3D scanners, metalworking lathes, and fabrication tools.

You will be encouraged to apply for and work towards EngTech status, giving you the edge as an Engineering graduate.

Our degrees are closely linked to industry. You will have the opportunity to work with big names in the industry throughout your studies, including IHC, Renolit IMechE, Port of Blyth and Siemens.

Investing in Your Future

We've received £8million in funding from the Office for Students (OfS) and we're investing this into brand-new equipment and facilities to support you on your degree.

In 2022, we spent part of a £2million investment into leading-edge teaching facilities on Engineering equipment, including:

  • Smart Robot car kits for digital programming

  • Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software

  • An industrial robot

  • FLUID SIM to design and test hydraulic and pneumatic circuits

  • Siemens PLC including HMI

  • A 3D industrial printer

  • CNC lathe machine


Over the next three years, we will also be building a dedicated Construction, Engineering and Energy HE Hub, which will include three high-spec CAD/BIM suites featuring equipment such as:

  • 4K Ultra-High Accuracy Microscope

  • Multisensor Measurement System
